"Joglo is a type of traditional house of the Javanese people. The word joglo refers to the shape of the roof. In the highly hierarchical Javanese culture, the type of roof of a house reflects the social and economic status of the owners of the house"
I have always been a big fan of wooden houses, I find that they have a crazy charm and character. The upper floor of the house hosts the sleeping area with 2 bedrooms, a dressing room, 2 bathrooms and as there was still a lot of space so we arranged a lounge and cozy corner. My client wanted to bring a surf vibe and I find that it goes very well with the wood.
What I like in this house is the elegance of the contrast, the white of the ceramic on the dark patinated wood, I find it sublime. It's the perfect balance. It echoes the Balinese culture which always makes a point of honor to keep the balance between good and evil, the sarongs are often black and white checkered to symbolize this contrast, this balance.
In a small isolated room we imagined the office. A dark space but which invites inspiration and dreams thanks to the two windows overlooking the greenery swaying in the wind... The breeze rushes into the room and gives a new breath of life to your activity.
